MY STORY
Hi, I'm Karen
The journey that led me to counselling has been shaped by real-life experience and a deep desire to support others well. Growing up on a farm and working in agriculture taught me the value of hard work and community—qualities that now help me build strong, trusting relationships with clients.

Years spent as a missionary in Mexico deepened my empathy and strengthened my ability to walk alongside people through complex life challenges. That season of service made it clear that I wanted to help people more intentionally, which led me to pursue formal counselling training in 2017.

Today, I blend lived experience with evidence-based approaches to support meaningful, lasting change. I believe healing begins when people feel truly heard, and I’m honoured to help clients explore new perspectives and rewrite their stories with hope.

MY VALUES
Christian faith is central to how I live and work. It allows me to connect deeply with clients who share that belief system, especially those who have been hurt by the church. At the same time, I wholeheartedly welcome individuals from all backgrounds and beliefs. Authenticity, genuine care, and a nonjudgmental presence are guiding values in the space I create for clients to explore and grow.
